Chilli Fresh 280 Chlorinator

At approximately 900 ppm, the Chilli Fresh 280 operates at a fraction of the salinity of a standard saltwater pool (typically 5,000-6,000 ppm) and well below even our own MineralWater system at 2,000-3,000 ppm. The water feels noticeably different, cleaner, softer, with none of the heaviness associated with higher-salt systems.
In the FreshWater system, the Chilli Pure handles the bacterial load through UV sanitisation, which means the Fresh 280 doesn't need to work as hard to maintain protection. In the AutoCare system, the Chilli Balance takes over output management entirely by reading ORP levels in real time and telling the Fresh 280 exactly what to produce and when to stop.

Why does the FreshWater system need a different chlorinator to MineralWater?

The FreshWater system runs at approximately 900 ppm - far lower than MineralWater at 2,000-3,000 ppm. To generate chlorine reliably at that low salinity, you need a cell engineered specifically for that range. The Chilli Fresh 280 is designed exactly for this.

The salinity is so low is the water actually sanitised properly?

Yes. The Chilli Pure UV sanitiser does the heavy lifting on bacteria, which means the Fresh 280 doesn't need high salinity to maintain protection. Lower salt, less chlorine demand, better-feeling water without compromising sanitisation.

Can I upgrade from MineralWater to FreshWater later?

Yes. It involves replacing the Mineral 200 with the Fresh 280 and adding the Chilli Pure UV sanitiser. Contact Chilli to arrange an assessment and quote.

How does the Fresh 280 interact with the Chilli Balance in AutoCare?

The Chilli Balance reads ORP levels continuously and directs the Fresh 280 automatically telling it what output to run at and when to stop. In AutoCare, the Fresh 280 responds to actual water conditions in real time.
