Chilli Micron Cartridge Filter
The Chilli Micron is a high-end 200 sq ft cartridge filter built for serious pool filtration. The micro-band filter element kills bacteria on contact while filtering, water enters with a cyclonic action to drop heavy particles to the base, and a pressure gauge tells you exactly when a clean is due. Less guesswork. Better water.
Most filters just trap debris. The Chilli Micron does more - the micro-band filtration element actively kills bacteria as water passes through, working alongside your sanitisation system to keep water cleaner with less chemical load.
The cyclonic water entry design sends water spinning into the filter housing, which causes heavier particles to fall to the base rather than loading up the cartridge. A base valve can be opened fortnightly to flush those sediments out and extending the life of the filter element and keeping flow rates consistent.
A pressure gauge is set at commissioning and acts as your filter health indicator so when pressure rises above the baseline, it's time to clean. A bleed valve at the top of the unit is used for water testing. Filter cleaning frequency depends on usage: monthly under heavy use, up to every three to six months during low-use periods.

How does a cartridge filter compare to a sand filter?
Cartridge filters generally filter to a finer particle size and don't require backwashing - which wastes significant water. The Chilli Micron also includes micro-band filtration that kills bacteria on contact, which a sand filter doesn't do.
How do I know when the filter needs cleaning?
The Chilli Micron has a pressure gauge set at commissioning. As the filter loads up, resistance rises and pressure increases above your baseline reading. The gauge tells you when it's time - no need to track hours or dates.
How do I clean the filter?
Open the base valve fortnightly to flush heavy particles from the base of the housing. For a full clean, remove and rinse the cartridge. A fortnightly base flush significantly extends the time between full cleans.
What does the micro-band technology actually do?
The micro-band filter element kills bacteria on contact as water passes through. This adds a layer of sanitisation to mechanical filtration, reducing the bacterial load your chlorinator and UV system need to manage.
