Chilli Electrolysis Protection
Pool equipment is expensive. The Chilli Electrolysis Protection is a sacrificial anode that sits inside your pool water and absorbs stray electrical currents before they can reach your pumps, shafts, and fittings. It takes the damage so your equipment doesn't have to.
Stray currents in pool water are more common than most owners realise - from ground leakage, from the chlorination system, or from other electrical sources nearby. Left unaddressed, they cause pitting on pump shafts and accelerate wear across all pool and spa equipment.
The sacrificial anode connects directly to the electrical earthing system. Any stray current is drawn to the anode first, corroding gradually in place of your equipment, which is exactly what it's designed to do. When the anode is depleted, it's replaced. Your pumps and fittings carry on.
Compatible with any pool. Lifespan of five years or more depending on conditions and how hard it's working. Worth inspecting every six months to ensure it's doing its job.

Is electrolysis really a common problem in pools?
More common than most owners realise. Stray electrical currents from the chlorinator, ground leakage, or nearby sources cause pitting on pump shafts and corrosion on fittings - damage that often goes unnoticed until something fails. The sacrificial anode is a low-cost, passive solution.
How do I know when the anode needs replacing?
Inspect it every six months. A healthy anode will show surface corrosion which means it's working. When it's significantly depleted, it's time to replace it. Your pool technician can check it during a routine service.
Does the anode need any maintenance other than occasional inspection?
No. It sits in the water connected to the earthing system and works continuously without any adjustment. Just inspect periodically and replace when depleted.
Is this compatible with all pool types?
Yes it's compatible with fibreglass, concrete, and vinyl pools. It's standard across all Chilli HushHub Control systems.
