Why does a heat pump need its own dedicated pump? 

Heat pumps require a specific flow rate to operate efficiently. Too high and you need a bypass valve. Too low and the heater can't reach fullcapacity. The Chilli Sonic Single Speed is sized to deliver exactly the right flow for any Chilli Comfort heat pump up to 35kW. No bypass needed. 

Can this pump also run my pool filtration? 

It's capable of running filtration for smaller pools, but Chilli always specifies the Variable Speed Pump for filtration. The Single Speed is reserved for the heater circuit because that's what it's optimised for.

Is this pump included if I add a Chilli heat pump to my system? 

Yes - the Chilli Sonic Single Speed Pump is included with all Chilli Comfort heat pump installations as part of the complete heating setup.
